It’s Moondance Jam, and it’s a special time of year for this Minnesota cover band. This is our 13th year performing at this annual festival. Although this was slimmed down to regional acts only, Sugar Buzz was honored to be chosen as one of those acts to perform.
The weather is warm and sunny. The people there are ready to party.
Many of us walk the campgrounds prior to our show date to talk to jammers and invite them to the show. They didn’t disappoint. People are standing ready at the stage before the first downbeat. We had 80 minutes and thousands want to be entertained in those minutes. It’s hot and we are sweaty. The people don’t mind. They cheer and sing along and clap. That’s when we feel the energy return. The stage is large enough so we can prowl it, throw guitar picks and shake hands. And, then it’s over all too soon. We want desperately to thank each and every jammer and take pictures. But, that has to wait until we’ve cleared the stage for the next band. Our goal was to entertain, to put on a very memorable show. By all accounts, we did.
