It was this Minnesota cover band’s first time playing the City of Burnsville’s “Party on the Plaza”. We weren’t sure what to expect, but were greeted by beautiful weather, a plethora of food trucks, and a well-thought-out seating and viewing area / stage area in a beautiful park. There were water-oriented areas to cool off for kids and adults, and a great amount of people relaxing and ready to hear music.
We had an opening band, Ranger Things to kick off the day. Their set was complementary in song list, and they were quick to give us the stage for setup. Burnsville public TV’s captured as we engaged the kids in the audience, and got those in chairs up and dancing. We gave away many SUGAR BUZZ guitar picks, and although it was a humid day, dancers found their way to the water areas to dance in the man-made river and inside the sprayers. It was a quick 90 minutes, but we felt the engagement from those sitting, standing and dancing. Sugar Buzz shirts dotted the landscape as our favorite fans showed their colors- but also, many hands raised when asked “who is new to Sugar Buzz?”. That’s a perfect mix for us. We love our fans, and gaining new ones. Our crew walked through the grounds offstage while playing to make sure we engaged and left a positive impression.
Our aim is to make it worthwhile for the audience to spend their beautiful Thursday with us.
We believe we met that goal!
