We had taken an unusual amount of time off for this Minnesota cover band after a flurry of shows. Singer Beth was getting married, and some of the guys were attending to other projects and vacations. So, when we got back on stage – there was a lot on the line! Bassist Dale had some time off and we had 2 bassists filling in. We hoped the lure of that novelty, plus the fact people hadn’t seen us in while would be enough to bring them back. This nightclub and bar was Neisen’s, an event we had not played in a while, so we were happy to get this great venue back on the schedule.

We were beyond thrilled when everyone showed up. We normally ask “who has seen us before- who is new to Sugar Buzz” – but in looking at all the faces out there, we knew the answer. Most everyone we knew was there. Not just friends, but followers of the band – some of whom DID BECOME friends. The dancefloor was jumping from the down beat of song one. People sang along like we’d never left. Larry and Steve, our fill-in bass players – performed beautifully and were welcomed by the crowd.

Mark and Henry prowled the dancefloor during songs, Paul got to show off his keytar skills on the new-to-the-crowd instrument and Beth took selfies with just about everyone there (we knew nearly everyone!)

It was like we never left. Now, our muscles are feeling flexed again, and Sugar Buzz is ready for the busy fall/winter!

Rock on.
