We always look forward to playing Bogart’s Entertainment Center when it comes up on our Minnesota cover band event schedule. It’s a spacious, classy room.  It boasts a 3-tiered stage, fantastic new lighting and a staff and management team that know and appreciate live music.

Sugar Buzz had a lot on the line with this particular show.  Curbside Productions was set to shoot our promo video, and the 1776 Riders (organization that promotes causes for vets, military and their families) was hosting a fundraising silent auction and it’s a big space to attempt to fill. We advertised and promoted heavily alongside the venue, and it was clear by sound check, we were going to have a busy night.  Nearly every table was full 30 minutes prior to showtime. We were later told over 200 tickets were sold to the event.

From the downbeat of Promises in the Dark, the dancers were on the floor. The dancefloor rarely experienced any downtime and dancers even crept up to tier one near the subwoofer to get a little closer to the stage action. People sang along to nearly everything – and loudly, jumping up and down during Enter Sandman and Smells Like Teen Spirit.  Clapping on the 1-2 to Kiss Me Deadly, and screaming MORE COWBELL during the Bee Gees “You Should Be Dancing”.  Band members strode through the exuberant audience and Beth even brought a few fellas up on the lower tier to dance like the ladies had a few songs prior.

The crowd was more than electric and we could tell from photos and online comments the next day – the crowd felt it as well.  We’re certain Curbside Productions got plenty of GREAT video to create our promo and we cannot wait to see it.  Sometimes it all comes together.
